Best of Washington: Holy BlackBerry!
T.L. Rogers, the pastor at Triumphant Baptist Church in West Hyattsville, may have the holiest hand-held in town. He writes notes for his sermons on his PDA, then takes it to the pulpit with him. “With paper notes, I’ve got to keep going back to the podium,” he says. “But I’m demonstrative—I like to walk around.” Seeing the BlackBerry in their pastor’s hand, church members feel free to contact him anytime—even during services if they have a question about his sermon. Rogers says he’s attached to his PDA: “It’s on the nightstand when I go to sleep.”
