While there are fine offerings on the regular menu—croque monsieur ($6.35), quiche ($6.75), French onion soup ($3.99)—we usually head straight for the specials board. There’s almost always at least one fish, one red-meat, and one vegetarian offering, but we’re especially fond of the cafe’s coq au vin, chicken Normandie, and chicken chasseur (all $12.95). A bonus: Most meals come with a piece of crusty baguette—one of the best in the area.
