Cafe Mozart (1331 H St., NW; 202-347-5732). This Germanic deli and hangout serves sausage plates, with hefty wursts and two sides, that are big enough to share. We like the smooth weisswurst ($8.95), a mild veal sausage, paired with bacon-studded German potato salad and authentic sauerkraut, and the milder red cabbage with the smoky Hungarian pork kilbassy ($10.95). Maybe add a couple of ground-meat turnovers ($3.95) to your order—when they’re heated, the flaky crust crackles around the spiced filling. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
