Don’t know much about Caribbean cuisine? Visit this Petworth counter where owner Andrene Finn offers samples of nearly everything. Highlights include the curried goat and the slow-cooked oxtail (small $8.25, large $10), hunks of flavorful, falling-off-the-bone meat that come with a scoop of addictive red beans and rice. Intensely peppery jerk chicken is available as a salad ($8), sandwich ($6.25), or wings (six for $4.50, nine for $6.25, a dozen for $8).
More-familiar fare includes an onion-studded side of macaroni and cheese ($2.80) and smoky-sweet barbecue wings. Less successful are the coco bread ($1.25) and the meat patties ($1.60).
Open Monday through Saturday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
