About Washingtonian Custom Media

In 2011, Washingtonian launched a custom media division, aimed at offering clients access to high-quality content consistent with the Washingtonian’s 48-year standard of excellence. Ranging from creating content rich, custom-designed, top-notch, full-color magazines and newsletters to writing compelling content for social media efforts, e-newsletters, and other digital products, Washingtonian Custom Media works closely with clients to ensure that their message is conveyed their way, engaging customers and prospects through the power of great content.

The new division borrows from The Washingtonian’s 45+ years of experience to deliver first-class publishing expertise for print, web and digital platforms. Since 1965, The Washingtonian has built a rock-solid reputation as “the magazine Washington lives by.” Cathy Merrill Williams, president and publisher of Washingtonian Magazine says, “No one knows this region—its people and its companies—as well as we do and no one writes and report about it better.”

Helping the effort are the same award-winning editorial and design teams that are well-known from Washingtonian’s title print and online products. “Our first-class team, including freelance writers, editors, designers, photographers, fact-checkers, and copy editors along with a new array of business partnerships, will ensure that no detail is overlooked. We don’t miss deadlines and we don’t deliver anything less than our best,” Cathy Merrill Williams says.

According to a 2011 independent study by the Custom Content Council, $40.2 billion dollars was spent on content marketing in corporate America and 26% of marketing budgets were earmarked for some form of content marketing.

By partnering with The Washingtonian for custom publishing needs, organizations and businesses will discover many benefits including: production cost savings, freedom of staff to focus on other priorities, access to the industry’s best designers, editors, writers, and photographers, as well as guidance in defining their brand.
