Where & When Bridal: What to Do This Weekend

Trunk shows for you and your mom, a stamping workshop, and more.

Friday, May 30: Modern Trousseau Trunk Show
Designer Callie Tein’s January trunk show at Hitched (1523 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-333-6162) was so popular that the Australian-born creator of romantic, lacy gowns is back! Visit Friday or Saturday to meet Tein, see her new fall 2008 collection, and talk about custom dresses. Plus, all Modern Trousseau gowns purchased during the show will be discounted 10 percent. To schedule an appointment, call the salon or e-mail info@hitchedsalon.com.

Sunday, June 1: Modern Trousseau Mother of the Occasion Trunk Show
Grab your mom and head back to Hitched (1523 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-333-6162) for the salon’s first-ever Modern Trousseau show dedicated to mom-worthy styles. Spots are limited, so call today to see if there are still appointments available.

“Start the Stampede” Workshop
This Paper Source workshop, held at the Old Town location (118 King St., Alexandria; 703-299-9950), isn’t wedding-themed, but you’ll pick up some great tips on stamping and embossing that will put your invitations ahead of the handmade curve. Register by phone or online, but you must sign up at least a day in advance. $45; 9:30 AM to noon.
