Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

High School Musical! Art after dark! And lots more fun events in this week's nightlife.

Monday, August 31: Restaurant Week Extended!
Were you too busy to dine out during Restaurant Week? No worries—many restaurants are extending their $20.09 three-course lunch and $35.09 dinner offerings. We have a guide.

Tuesday, September 1: Free Beer at a New Bar
We take an early look at the Midtown Loft bar/lounge in downtown DC. Our favorite part so far about the new spot? The fact that they offer free beer every weekday from 5 to 6 PM.

Wednesday, September 2: High School Fun
Zac, Vanessa and Ashley have all graduated and moved on, but fans still waxing nostalgic about Disney's 2006  Emmy-award winning television musical can relive the angst, joy, and bubbly tunes on the stage version at Wolf Trap. Tickets ($25-$70) can be purchased here. The show starts at 8. Now, sing with us: Together, together, c'mon let's do this right…

Thursday, September 3: Rock the Peacock
The Freer and Sackler Galleries' Asia After Dark is an after-hours party that combines gallery tours with food, drinks, and performances. Tonight's theme is "Come Rock at Peacock Shock," and guests are encouraged to dress in peacock-inspired attire. Dance troupe Boogie Bots from MTV's America's Best Dance Crew show will perform and Brian Liu of DJ collaborative Yellow Fever will emcee the event. A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the door at 6:15 ($20, cash only, and limited to one per person). Doors open at 6:30.
