Here’s exactly what you want to hear the day before Valentine’s Day: DC is apparently
a city full of cheaters. The website Ashley Madison, “the world’s leading married
dating service for discreet encounters,” released a list of the nation’s least faithful
cities, determined by number of signups on the site. The District ranked first for
the second year in a row, with 34,157 signups, followed by two Texas cities—Austin
and Houston—and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Richmond, Virginia, ranked sixth.
DC also has the highest percentage of married men over the age of 50 looking for some
extramarital bliss. Ashley Madison founder and CEO Noel Biderman brought up the General Petraeus
scandal, saying, “Living in DC it’s crucial to keep
up appearances, and therefore adultery has become a way of life
for many of the city’s
most powerful residents,” according to a CNS News article.
Sounds like those fuzzy handcuffs might need to start serving double duty.
