A couple of weeks back, we spotted a new blow-dry bar in the works at 21st and P streets, Northwest. Reps previously told us to expect the salon to open within a few months, but we’re pleased to learn today that Washingtonians will be able to enjoy our favorite beauty indulgence sooner than expected: Blo will open at 9 AM on March 22.
The Dupont location is Blo’s 38th globally, making it the largest blow-dry bar chain in the world and the latest local option for blowout-addicted salon-goers (similar blowout-only concepts Drybar, Flow, and Blowout Bar were met with eager crowds). The chic, pink-covered salon offers a menu of seven blowout styles for a flat fee of $40; house calls, private parties, and bridal services are also available. It will be open as early as 7 on weekdays and 9 on the weekends.
Here’s a bonus: Blo kicks off its opening weekend by offering discounted blowouts—$25 a pop, nearly half its usual price—all day Saturday and Sunday. A portion of proceeds from the weekend will be donated to the Washington Humane Society.
Walk-ins are welcome at the blow-dry bar, but to be safe, you can book appointments for opening weekend online or through Blo’s mobile app.
