Fino fans will have to find another place to sip this summer. Mockingbird Hill, Derek Brown’s sherry-centric Shaw bar, will close on Sunday, June 26, for a months-long remodel. Drinkers will still find sherries and carved ham on the menu upon reopening, but the bar’s focus will expand to cocktails. A new look is also in the works from Edit Lab at Streetsense, who’s behind the decor of sister spirits venture, the Columbia Room.
Anyone who wants to bid farewell to Mockingbird as it stands can drop in this Friday and Saturday, when Brown will tend bar. Stay tuned as to whether the uber-popular Christmas bar, Miracle on 7th Street, will reappear in the space for the holidays.
