It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from Bill Clinton’s younger half-brother, Roger Clinton Jr., who acted in 90s films like Bio-Dome and Retroactive. However, his son, Tyler Clinton, has a face the fashion industry is betting will be much harder to forget. TMZ reported Tuesday that IMG Models, a New York-based modeling agency, had signed the 22-year-old aspiring model and nephew of the 42nd president.
Tyler Clinton, who according to W is a native Californian and a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, has kept a low profile despite his prominent family. However, it appears that as the Clinton name has started to fade from politics, the recent college grad has taken steps to enter it. By signing to IMG, an agency that represents runway stars by the likes of Joan Smalls, Gemma Ward, and Alessandra Ambrosio, Clinton has made it clear he isn’t just testing the waters. IMG already has stats, a profile, and head shots up on its Development page, and Clinton, who goes by @tclint on Instagram, updated his profile to indicate he was moving to New York for the career change.
IMG Models confirmed Clinton’s signing yesterday with a tweet shortly after 1 pm, after which Tyler took to his own Instagram to share his enthusiasm. Despite the fact that Clinton does not have an extensive commercial modeling background, he has already been photographed by several fashion photographers. Clinton first caught the public’s attention at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, when the internet took to calling him Hillary Clinton’s ‘hot nephew.’ But while the verdict may be out as to whether Tyler Clinton can forge a name for himself in the fashion industry, one need only scroll the comments on his social media accounts to see that his last name will be hard to carry onto any public platform.
