Dr. Jonathan Hernandez is a board-certified surgical oncologist and renowned scientist at the Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. His clinical and research efforts focus on improving the oncologic outcomes for patients with cancers of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas. He is the principal investigator of a novel, presently accruing clinical trial that seeks to prevent cancer recurrence with the use of cancer-specific antibodies administered at the time of surgery. Dr. Hernandez will treat or provide second opinions for patients with a wide range of cancers at the nation’s federally funded cancer center, where treatment is free to those receiving care at the NIH Clinical Center.
