Bartoli Cain Wason, PLLC
Michele Bartoli Cain focuses her practice on medical malpractice, dental malpractice, and select personal injury cases.
Michele graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she concentrated on polishing her trial and advocacy skills as a member of the National Moot Court Team and the Executive Moot Court Board. Michele was inducted into the Order of the Barristers at graduation. As an alumna, Michele returns to Wake Forest periodically to lecture on tort litigation.
Following graduation from law school in 1983 she became a trial attorney in the District of Columbia, where she concentrated her practice on products liability and medical malpractice litigation. She also gained extensive experience in complex commercial and international litigation. She later expanded her practice into Virginia, founding her own firm in Old Town Alexandria in 2005.
Michele feels that part of her duty as an attorney is to not only litigate on behalf of injured patients for justice, but also to assist physicians to improve the quality of health care they render to avoid injury to their patients. Michele has been invited to lecture to groups of physicians and dentists on risk avoidance methods to reduce their patient’s exposure to injuries that result in claims. As a strong patient advocate, she is very willing to do her part to assist healthcare providers to improve the quality of health care they render so as to avoid injury to their patients.
Michele has obtained substantial verdicts and settlements for clients in malpractice, personal injury, and wrongful death cases. Her clients include people who have suffered failures to diagnose cancer and other diseases, failures to provide proper medical treatment, unnecessary and incompetently performed surgeries, permanent nerve injuries, and the wrongful death of infants, children and adults.
She is recognized by her peers as a top advocate in her field. In addition to repeated Washingtonian selections as one of the Best Personal Injury Attorneys in the Washington DC area, she is rated AV (“preeminent”) by Martindale-Hubbell, is listed in Best Lawyers, and has been named a Washington and Virginia “Super Lawyer.”
Michele is a passionate advocate for her clients. She looks forward to continuing to serve those persons who are injured due to the negligence of others.
