DC Walk for the Animals
September 21, 2019 at 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Registration fee to participate in the Walk is $35, which includes a Walk t-shirt and bag
One of the great fall traditions continues, as the Humane Rescue Alliance’s annual DC Walk for the Animals takes place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Bardo Brewing on the Capitol Riverfront.
This event includes a one-mile walk around the Capitol Riverfront and Nationals Park to raise money for the programs and services the Humane Rescue Alliance provides to the animals in our community and the people who love them.
Check-in for the event begins at 11 a.m., with the Walk kicking off at noon. The event will feature beer from Bardo Brewing, local food trucks, music, community partners, dog friendly activities, and adoptable animals. Klinger from DC101 will serve as event emcee and help kick-off the festivities.
The registration fee to participate in the Walk is $35 and includes a Walk t-shirt and bag. The Walk is a peer-to-peer fundraiser, with all participants encouraged to raise money in the weeks and months leading up to the event. Walkers are encouraged to reach out to friends and family to form fundraising teams to support HRA and compete for recognition as the top fundraising individual or team.
New this year, participants will have incentives to fundraise between June and September, including:
• The top individual and team fundraisers receive the opportunity to be featured in HRA’s Alliance magazine with their pets.
• All participants who sign up before Sunday, June 30, 11:59 p.m. will be entered to win a chance of being featured on HRA’s Instagram with their pets.
• All participants who raise $1,000 by August 17 – in honor of International Homeless Animal Day – will be entered to win a feature of their pet in HRA’s 2020 calendar.
• More giveaways will be announced throughout the summer fundraising campaign.
