Actor and playwright Mashuq Mushtaq Deen has created an autobiographical one-man show about coming out as transgender to his conservative Muslim family in a small Connecticut town. But he doesn’t play himself—Deen takes on the roles of his parents, friends, and niece in a tale of self-discovery and the complexity of unconditional love.
