In the 1920s, members of the Osage Indian Nation in Oklahoma were some of the wealthiest people in the world after oil was found beneath their land. Then they started getting murdered. At this event, Grann, a New Yorker staff writer, discusses his book about the little-known historical conspiracy, which became one of the first major homicide cases under J. Edgar Hoover’s newly created FBI.
