Tuesday, July 21: Belgian Independence Day Celebration
Brasserie Beck celebrates Belgian Independence Day with a beer-and-food (note the order) extravaganza. Chef Robert Wiedmaier has selected a slew of over 20 different belgian brews for the tasting, which will be complimented by a selection of grilled sausages, mussels and more. Wednesday, July 22: The Waxman Report
Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Henry Waxman will be at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue to read and discuss his first book, The Waxman Report: How Congress Really Works. The event, which is sponsored by Politics and Prose, starts at 7. Tickets($6) can be purchased here.
Thursday, July 23: Cruise Control
Long before Katie, Suri, and Oprah, Tom Cruise was actually a likeable, not-crazy star. Relive those good old days at the Capital Riverfront's screening of Top Gun. The film, which made Cruise a star, will be shown at dusk (8:45) over by Tingey Plaza. Food, drinks and a photo booth are available prior to the screening.
