After meeting at a Virginia Tech Hokies football game, at which Kyle found Emily “absolutely beautiful,” the pair met up at an on-campus coffee shop. The date went so well, they were forced to call it a night only due to the fact that the cafe was closing.

Three and a half years later, Kyle had asked Emily to dress up for his work event. When they missed the highway exit for the event Emily thought they were going to, she was a bit curious about where the night was headed. He took her to a dinner overlooking the mountains at the Primland Resort instead of his work function, and her suspicions were confirmed when Kyle popped the question in front of the romantic scenery.

Emily wore her best friend and bridesmaid’s wedding veil as her “something borrowed” at their July wedding. After an outdoor ceremony and posing for photos around the sunny Salamander Resort & Spa property, the newlyweds continued the celebration in a tent reception. The bride’s family and friends pulled off a surprise dance to Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk,” effectively opening the dance floor for the night of partying ahead.

After dancing to Michael Buble’s “Save the Last Dance for Me” and cutting into their multi-flavored Apple pie, Nutella, and Tres Leches layer cake, the happy couple departed with a honeymoon in Bermuda on the calendar.
