“May the Fourth Be With You”: Star Wars Day Specials Around DC

Let your geek flag fly this week at all the Star Wars-themed events we’ve rounded up for you this week:

1. DC United Star Wars Night
If you’ve always wanted to dress up as Leia or Yoda and watch DC United play Impact Montreal, this is your chance. The event features a lightsaber battle and over 20 Star Wars characters you can get your picture taken with.
When: Saturday, May 6, at 6 p.m.
Where: RFK Stadium

2. Wookie Trivia: A Star Wars Quiz
“Are you one with the force? Is the force one with you? Does your partner still hate you for insisting on answering “I know” every time they tell you that they love you?” Then this might be your crowd. Note: Registration is required beforehand because space is limited.
When: Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m.
Where: Paddy Barry’s in Tyson’s Corner

3. Gurlies in Space burlesque 
Nerdy queer women: tonight is your night. Come see the DC Gurly show regulars give an “interstellar” burlesque performance.
When: Thursday, May 4, at 9 p.m.
Where: The Pinch in DC

4. Star Wars or Spy Wars discussion
“Who needs the force when you have good intel?” asks the Spy Museum.
When: Thursday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Spy Museum in DC

5. Star Wars Trivia
The event features Star Wars-themed cocktail specials and trivia with both bragging rights and prizes for trivia winners. Bar staff say the event starts at 8 p.m., but it’s a good idea to come early to claim your table because there’s a lot of interest.
When: Thursday, May 4, at 8 p.m.
Where: Fado in DC

6. Return of the Jedi drive-in movie
What better way to kick off summer than by watching Episode VI under the stars?
When: Friday, May 5. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. Film begins at 8 p.m./sunset.
Where: Union Market parking lot.

7. May the 4th be with you! screening and event
Organized by the Washington Film Festival charity, this event features trivia and a showing of Rogue One. Moviegoers will be greeted by stormtroopers, and have the chance to win prizes for best individual or group costume.
When: Thursday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse
