Claude Monet, widely considered the father of Impressionism, is known for his bucolic paintings such as his famous Water Lilies series. Now the French painter will be the subject of the upcoming exhibition, “Claude Monet: The Immersive Experience DC.” Tickets go on sale on January 25 at 11 AM

The event—which will run from February 16 into October—will include a recreation of the painter’s atelier and images of the landscapes that Monet immortalized into art. A 360-degree installation will span 20,000 square feet and feature two-story projections of his art. Using virtual reality, visitors can further explore eight of Monet’s works including “Poppies” and “Haystacks, End of Summer.”

Visitors will be able to also see digital representations of Monet’s gardens at Giverny and recreations of his most noteworthy paintings. Some aspects of the exhibition, such as the wooden bridge inspired by Monet’s “Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies,” have obvious photo op appeal. The exhibition, run by Fever (also behind “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience”), has appeared internationally in London, and closer to home in cities like Schenectady and Cincinnati.
