How We Select DC's Best Real Estate Agents

August 29, 2018

The Process

To arrive at this list of 100 names, we surveyed more than 25,000 local Washingtonian subscribers, plus nearly 2,000 agents who made last year’s Best Agents and Top Producers lists. We asked both groups whom they’ve most enjoyed working with, based on a number of criteria including market knowledge, integrity, communication skills, and closing preparation. We further vetted those results by contacting still more real-estate industry professionals.

For those househunting in particular areas, we have included neighborhoods where each agent does business. But these are only examples. Many of them work all over Washington.

Who are Top Producers?

These are agents and teams who produced among the highest sales volumes in Washington last year, along with where they’re licensed. The list includes agents in DC; Prince George’s, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, and Howard counties in Maryland; and Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties and Alexandria in Virginia. If your real-estate office didn’t receive a Top Producers survey this year and you’d like to participate, please contact senior editor Marisa M. Kashino at [email protected].
