Dr. Maia is an award-winning, board-certified plastic surgeon. She specializes in surgical and non-surgical procedures of the face, eyes, nose, breast and body. Dr. Maia practices in Northern Virginia, Washington DC area and Maryland. She is known for her compassionate and comprehensive approach to patient care. Dr. Maia’s philosophy is to educate and empower her patients to make a well-informed decision about their bodies and provide natural, beautiful and long-lasting results.

Background

Dr. Maia started her surgical training at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She trained in aesthetic surgery at the prestigious Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH) in NYC. Dr. Maia then completed advanced training in aesthetic surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Medical School in Boston

Since 2007, Dr. Maia has authored over 50 original articles, abstracts, and book chapters in plastic surgery. Dr. Maia is a respected author and her research has received multiple awards, including the “Outstanding Paper Award” by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and more recently the “Best Paper Award” for her research in cosmetic breast surgery. In addition to her research, Dr. Maia serves as an associate editor for an upcoming plastic surgery book focused on neck rejuvenation which will be released in March 2024.
