Amy Strent is a co-founder and the managing partner at Hostetter Strent. Ms. Strent takes a personal approach with each client and tailors her presentation to the clients’ individual needs. She focuses on putting her clients in an optimal position so that they can best accomplish their goals, helping them both emotionally and legally.
Her experience includes litigation and negotiation in the areas of child custody and support, complex property disputes, alimony, retirement, issues involving same-sex couples and all other issues arising out of marriage dissolution. Ms. Strent also represents individuals planning to marry. Her practice includes post-trial work regarding retirement benefits and appellate litigation. Additionally, she is trained in collaborative law and mediation, having successfully mediated cases and having helped her own client’s mediate matters.
She is recognized as one of the top divorce attorneys in Washingtonian Magazine (2018-present). In addition, Ms. Strent has been included in Maryland and D.C.’s Super Lawyer’s Magazine recognition of top lawyers from 2009-present.
Ms. Strent belongs to the Maryland State Bar Association, The Montgomery County Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar Association. Ms. Strent also chairs the Montgomery County Law Firm Management section, an active committee whose members devote their time to improving the business of law and promoting high standards of the legal community in Montgomery County.
