ART: Phillips After Five’s Swiss Spirit will transport you to Switzerland. Listen to the Brad Collins Trio perform famed musicians Les McCann and Eddie Harris’s Swiss Movement album. Taste Swiss wines, espresso, and fondue. Look at the gallery’s latest exhibit, “From Gauguin to Picasso: Masterworks From Switzerland” along with short Swiss films. And get your hands on the Zurich University of the Arts’s “Fluid Morphologies” exhibit, where you’ll learn about “state of the art materials that generate fluid movements, opening up new visions for art, architecture, and design.” $12, 5 PM.

DRINK: Enjoy a cool collaboration of local beers, art, and food at the Art League’s Art on Tap. Suds from local breweries, including Port City Brewing Company, Heavy Seas, and Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company, will be paired with artworks, and local restaurants like Red Rocks and Chadwicks will select a brew/artwork pairing as inspiration for an appetizer. FOOD: Oktoberfest may have come and gone, but there’s still time for “Novemberfest.” Rustico’s fourth annual outdoor festival will feature 50 local beers from Virginia, plus drink-friendly dishes like smoked turkey legs, BBQ pork sandwiches, poutine, and pumpkin spice doughnuts. FILM: The 1925 silent classic Variety celebrates its 90th anniversary at the AFI Silver Theatre. Transport yourself back to the time before “talkies,” enjoying a live musical accompaniment just like in the old days. $12, 4 PM.
PETS: The Washington Humane Society is getting into the Thanksgiving spirit.
