ART SPACES: For the past three years, the Dunes has been one of DC’s most important art spaces and concert venues. And like anything small and good and a little quirky in this city, it’s closing prematurely. You can send it off with one last party that goes until someone kicks you out. As usual, there will be live music and a deejay. $5. 8 PM.
Tuesday, April 29
DATING: Dating is super-weird these days, what with Tinder and texting and . . . well, mostly those two. A bunch of experts on love will be discussing what the heck is going on with relationships at Arena Stage. Tickets are limited to 100 men and 100 women, and afterward you can meet and get married or whatever. Tickets ($35) are available online. 7:30 PM.
Wednesday, April 30
DRINK: Kind of like Artini lite, the Torpedo Factory hosts Art on the Rocks, a night in which seven local mixologists make cocktails based on one of the gallery’s pieces from its “Pop Art” exhibit. You can sample all the drinks, listen to live jazz, and eat free appetizers all night. Tickets ($35) are available online. 7 PM.
Thursday, May 1
BARBECUE: Hill Country’s backyard barbecue pop-up is back at the National Building Museum for a second year, which maybe makes it less of a pop-up and more of an institution. Like last year, there’ll be live country music every weekend, lots of Shiner Bock and spiked lemonade, games, and finger-lickin’ barbecue. Free. 4 PM.
