Billy Martin’s Tavern and Nathans, two longtime Georgetown favorites, went head-to-head in our last burger face-off. The winner? Martin's, though not by a wide margin. Nathans pulled in a respectable 49 percent of the votes, compared to Martin's 51 percent.

Matchbox: It might be best known for its sliders, but this Chinatown pizza bistro also puts out a worthy full-sized patty, topped with Gorgonzola, cremini mushrooms, and bacon.
Union Street Public House: The patty at this Old Town tavern is made from Angus beef and offered with a wide variety of cheeses, from havarti to bleu.
