José Andrés Tops Bravo’s A-List

Thank you to all the Iberian pigs who made this award possible. . . Photograph courtesy of Bravo.

This season of Top Chef may have come to a close, but DC chef José Andrés—who recently made an appearance as a guest judge on the kitchen reality show—was back on Bravo last night. Andrés, who owns a mini-empire of restaurants here (Oyamel, Zaytinya, Café Atlántico, Minibar, three Jaleos) and is a bona fide TV star in his native Spain, scored one of the network’s A-List Awards. . . yup, there’s an A-List Chef category.

If you missed the somewhat-random awards show last night (categories ranged from A-list Drama Queen to Rear of the Year, won by the Italian guy Samantha drooled over in Sex and the City), don't fret—Bravo airs constant repeats of their shows. Tune in tonight at 6:30 and watch Andrés beat out his competition: media darling (and recent James Beard award-winner for Best Chef New York City) David Chang of New York’s Momofuku Ko, Ssam Bar, and Noodle Bar; Suzanne Goin of Los Angeles’s Lucques and A.O.C.; and Michael Psilakis, who has a trio of acclaimed Greek-influenced restaurants in Manhattan.
