Happy near-weekend, Washington! There's plenty going on to keep you occupied, and we've put the best events together in our weekend nightlife picks. There's also lots of Friday night bar parties and specials for the anniversary of the end of Prohibition, and fun holiday open house tours going on. What are you going to do this weekend?

Transportation fans, rejoice: Federal regulators have approved the Silver Line on the Metro, an extension of the rail that will go out to Tysons Corner and Dulles.

The Washington Times newspaper is currently only distributed in the Washington region, but could they be planning to go national?
