When you have been to the neighborhood playground too many times to count and you can’t fathom another stroll around the nearest mall, it’s time to explore all of the amazing little kid activities available to you throughout DC and the Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs.

Looking for something you can do as a family: Simon Says Yoga’s Family Yoga class will get you all “cobra-ing” together! And sing along music and movement classes are always tried and true like the ones at International School of Music or Music Together at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. Swimming with your little ones is a super fun way to connect skin-to-skin and great for dads too! Why should moms have all the fun? Get wet with Swim Lessons at Washington DCJCC.

More then one child under foot? Check out local classes for siblings like Mixed Age/Sibings @ My Gym Chantilly or Classic Tales n Tunes.

Introduce your little ones to one of your passions—whether it’s a cooking or baking boot camp with Tiny Chefs or photography at Glen Echo Park Partnerships for Arts & Culture—you both will be thrilled as you share with them something you love to do!

There are many activities for kids with special needs and opportunities for parents to connect with other parents including classes at Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind and stories that are signed in American Sign Language at DC Public Library.

Let’s face it – sometimes you just need a little time for yourself to catch up on email or the latest issue of Washingtonian MOM. Try a “drop off” martial arts or gymnastics class like Kicks Karate or Just for Kids.
