Inauguration Aggregation

At-large councilmember Kwame Brown started a blog yesterday dedicated to the inauguration. His first post—and only, so far—deals with two senators' resolve to reverse Washington's newly-passed 5 AM drinking order, effective during the inauguration.

Speaking of which, yesterday we told you about a petition to uphold the DC Council's decision on the matter. Well, here's the other side of the story: A local mother and Obama supporter pleads with out-of-towners not to come to DC and "litter my streets or drive drunk on my roads."

Eleanor Holmes Norton wants federal and nonprofit buildings in Washington to open their doors to crowds on Inauguration Day. As the Washington Business Journal reports, "Norton says the move would help break up the congestion among the millions of people expected for the event, shorten long walks and boost access to rest rooms."
