Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

What to do this week for fun!

Monday: Cozy Up
It's cold out there. So tonight, why don't you pull on your sweaters and scarves, duck inside a cozy bar, and sip drinks by a fireplace? Here’s a smattering of Washington pubs and lounges to keep your cheeks rosy and your bodies toasty.

Tuesday: Political Cocktails
In our rundown of the best and worst of 2008 food trends, we cited the rise of craft cocktails as one of our faves. If you're interested in learning more about DC's cocktail scene, head tonight to Rock Creek Restaurant Mazza Gallerie, where Derek Brown and Phil Greene of the Museum of the American Cocktail will be discussing the history of cocktails throughout American history. 6:30 PM, $35.

Wednesday: Kostume Karaoke
What’s better than regular old karaoke? Karaoke where you dress up in ridiculous costumes and wigs! Solly’s Tavern holds its regular installment of Kostume Karaoke from 8 PM until close. So prep that Phil Collins tune you’ve been dying to belt out, get ready to throw on a blue sparkly wig and a pink tutu, and rock out.

Thursday: Beer for Barack
Something about a new president just makes people seem to want to celebrate with alcohol. Who are we to complain? All this week, Rustico is celebrating the approaching inauguration with "American Beer Week." Any day from January 13 until January 20, you can an American craft beer from Rustico's line up, which has been switched to all American beers. Beers are between $5 and $9.
