Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

Relax with Spa Week, drink wine at the Zoo, and do lots more in this week's nightlife.

Monday: Thai Restaurant Week
For the second year in a row, Washington Thai restaurants are celebrating Songkran—the Thai New Year—with a week of promotions. Thai Restaurant Week runs April 13 through 19, and although some restaurants simply offer a 10-percent discount, others get more creative with the festivities. Here's a roundup of specials and events at local restaurants.

Tuesday: Relax with Spa Week
If you haven’t felt at least a little stressed over the past few months, you’re one of the lucky ones. And what could be better than a relaxing facial or massage when you need a time out? Fortunately, Spa Week 2009 begins today.

Wednesday: Half-Price Wine
It's April 15, you've filed your taxes (hopefully) and you just need a night to relax. Check out our guide to half-price wine nights in Washington, and treat yourself to a discounted bottle of red or white.

Thursday: Grapes With the Apes
The National Zoo parties tonight at Grapes With the Apes, a winetasting happy hour where you’ll get exclusive access to the Great Ape House. (Not sure exactly what exclusive access implies, but we’re betting you won’t be getting behind the glass.) There’ll also be live music, appetizers, and more. 6 to 9 PM. Tickets are $30 for FONZ members, $40 for nonmembers; purchase them here. But move quickly; this event always sells out.
