Steamed crabs, slam poetry, and Scorsese onscreen

It’s time to say goodbye to Bar Pilar’s summer crab feasts. Tonight’s your last chance to score ten crabs plus sides such as shrimp, potato salad, and corn on the cob for $60. Doors open at 5.

The Fridge is hosting the Beltway Poetry Slam tonight, featuring New York slam poet Jon Sands. For $5, you can see two rounds of slam poetry, followed by music by DJ Phenomojon. 8 PM.

Martin Scorsese’s After Hours was released to plenty of buzz after he took home the best-director award at the 1986 Cannes Film Festival. The movie follows Griffin Dunne as he tries to get home after a rough night in lower Manhattan. AFI Silver Theatre is screening it at 9:25 to celebrate the movie’s 25th anniversary.
