Things to Do

Where & When: What to Do Tonight

A free movie screening, pizza and beer, and job-search advice

Filter magazine is screening It’s Kind of a Funny Story, which stars Emma Roberts, Zach Galifianakis, and Keir Gilchrist, at Regal Cinemas Gallery Place (707 Seventh St., NW). Critics have praised the dark comedy, about a teenager who checks himself into an adult psychiatric ward, as a contemporary homage to John Hughes. Watch the trailer and RSVP here. Seating is first come, first served. 7 PM.

Local 16 is hosting a Tweet-Up happy hour and party with CitySearch DC. Talk tech—and writing technique—over free Peronis and pizza while supplies last, and move on to $5 martinis and $4 rail drinks and glasses of house wine. Appropriate to the crowd, the organizers also are raffling off an iPad. 6 to 9. Free; RSVP here.

Beat the job-hunt blues and get some tips from Marc Cenedella, founder and CEO of TheLadders.com. He’ll be discussing and signing copies of his advice book, You’re Better Than Your Job Search, cowritten with Matthew Rothenberg, at Borders in Rockville (11301 Rockville Pike). 7 PM; free.
