Singer Kelli Scarr, best known for collaborating with techno whiz Moby, is striking out on her own. She’s performing songs from her album, Piece, tonight at the Black Cat, alongside the Lolitas and the Fire Tapes. 8:30. Tickets ($8) are available here.

Tuesday, December 7
Actress Florence Lacey is ready for her closeup at the opening night of Sunset Boulevard at Signature Theatre. The musical is based on the classic film, and the composer is Andrew Lloyd Webber. Through February 13. Buy tickets ($59 to $95) here.

Wednesday, December 8
Chicago’s Second City comedy troupe takes on Washington with A Girl’s Guide to Washington Politics. The show, produced exclusively for Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, skewers women in politics—and no one is safe. It runs through January 9. Thursday, December 9
The Moscow Ballet presents the Great Russian Nutcracker, accompanied by the National Philharmonic at Strathmore. Tickets ($27.50 to $87.50) are available here. You can also catch the performance December 8.
