Tune-Yards, the music project fronted by New England native Merrill Garbus, comes to Merriweather Post Pavilion 9:30 Club on Sunday, June 3. California-based ’90s nu metal powerhouse Korn come to the Fillmore Silver Spring on Friday, May 4. (Regrettably, our style doesn’t permit us to write the iconic, Toys ’R’ Us–esque backward “R” in their name.) Surprisingly enough, the band have nabbed two Grammys for their singles “Freak on a Leash” and “Here to Stay.” Their tenth studio album, The Path of Totality, was released in digital format in May 2011.
