The Black Keys, Scorpions, and Korn: Get Your Tickets

After a sold-out show at the Verizon Center last weekend, the Black Keys will bring their raw, blues-inspired tunes to Merriweather Post Pavilion on Friday, May 18. They released their most recent studio production, El Camino, last December. Tickets ($40 to $55) go on sale Friday, March 16, at 10 AM through Ticketfly.

If you haven’t gotten enough of the frat-driven glam-rock revival over the past few years, find a fix with Scorpions this summer. Best known for their 1984 anthem “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” they play Merriweather Post Pavilion on Thursday, July 12. Post-rock quintet Mogwai come to the 9:30 Club on Monday, June 11. Known for long, melodic instrumental pieces, the Glaswegian band has had multiple albums on UK top-25 charts. Get your tickets ($20) now via Ticketfly.

Tune-Yards, the music project fronted by New England native  Merrill Garbus, comes to Merriweather Post Pavilion 9:30 Club on Sunday, June 3. Garbus creates her distinctive sound using looping devices to layer her songs with various instruments including the ukelele. Tickets ($20) are on sale now through Ticketfly.

California-based ’90s nu metal powerhouse Korn come to the Fillmore Silver Spring on Friday, May 4. (Regrettably, our style doesn’t permit us to write the iconic, Toys ’R’ Us–esque backward “R” in their name.) Surprisingly enough, the band have nabbed two Grammys for their singles “Freak on a Leash” and “Here to Stay.” Their tenth studio album, The Path of Totality, was released in digital format in May 2011. Tickets ($45) go on sale Friday, March 16, at 10 AM through Live Nation.
