Great Bars 2013: The Wine Kitchen (Frederick)

Black-and-white checkered floors line this lovely wine bar
along Frederick’s Carroll Creek (the other location is in Leesburg)—a
relaxing day-trip destination. A shelf on the side of the marble-topped
bar holds a carefully curated selection of spirits—tempting drinkers away
from suggestively named wine flights such as Pinot Evil and 3 Way
Chardonnay. Insider tip: Whatever you drink, don’t miss decadent bar
offerings such as foie gras doughnuts (executive chef Adam Harvey is an
alum of nearby Volt’s pastry station) and duck spring rolls. Open Tuesday
through Sunday.
