Dr. Carlos has been part of the Northern Virginia community since 2013, when he joined Dr. Gouldin in Falls Church, VA to deliver minimally invasive periodontics and implant therapy to the residents of Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C.  Dr. Carlos strives to develop an individualized approach to addressing your needs which, in collaboration with your family dentist, supports your dental goals and improves your quality of life.  He believes in establishing a relationship based on mutual trust and understanding with his patients, and in providing them with the necessary resources to confidently participate in the decision-making process.

Dr. Carlos has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since May 11, 2012.  Dr. Carlos is constantly completing continuing education to make the latest therapeutical advancements available.  Dr. Carlos is certified in the Wilckodontics® Procedure (Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics™) as well as the Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP™) and the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique.  In addition, Dr. Carlos uses the latest equipment in 3-D technology and imaging to provide dental implants that are placed with greater precision and, in some cases, have a crown delivered as early as 24 hours post-implant placement.  Dr. Carlos is also certified to provide I.V. and conscious sedation, to make each and every one of your visits comfortable, predictable and safe.

Dr. Carlos is a co-founder of the Northern Virginia Periodontics Center for Education, a cutting-edge teaching facility dedicated to hosting and providing educational opportunities for dental colleagues and their staff.  Dr. Carlos and Dr. Gouldin currently lead four continuing education clubs, including the Northern Virginia Periodontics Spear Study Clubs and the Northern Virginia Periodontics Hygiene Study Series.  Dr. Carlos frequently lectures locally and nationally, and is an active member of many local, regional, national, and international dental organizations.
