Dr. Goral was born and raised in Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Georgetown University in 1975 and completed his M.D. from Georgetown University in 1981. He completed his orthopaedic residency in 1986 at State University of New York at Stony Brook. He served on active duty in the United States Navy at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland as an attending in Orthopaedic Surgery until 1989. He is the Medical Director for the Joint Center at Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring, Maryland. He is currently the Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at Holy Cross Hospital. Washingtonian magazine has included Dr. Goral as a “Best Doctor” in orthopaedics since 1998 and is proud to be again cited in its 2014 edition. He is an active sailor, down hill skier, scuba diver and multimarathon runner and an advocate for an active healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Goral’s interests and expertise is lower extremity reconstruction, inclusive of minimally invasive hip and knee joint replacement, unicompartmental knee replacement, geriatric fracture management and osteoporosis and arthroscopy and arthroscopic ligament reconstruction of the knee.
