Joshua J. Wind
Dr. Joshua Wind is a board-certified neurosurgeon with clinical expertise and special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preserving spine surgery (such as disk replacement), endoscopic pituitary tumor surgery as well as brain and spine tumors.
Dr. Wind strives to always place the patient first and to seek out the most conservative and least invasive options for each individual patient. Using conservative care and minimally invasive techniques, he seeks out options that have the best chance for achieving individual patient goals while minimizing the negative impacts from traditional open surgeries. This results in shorter hospital stays, faster recoveries, and patients getting back to their lives sooner.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Wind practiced in Washington, D.C. for 11 years. He served as an associate clinical professor of neurosurgery at the George Washington University Medical Center and an adjunct assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also served as the chief of the division of neurosurgery at Sibley Memorial Hospital and was appointed by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser as a member of the D.C. Board of Medicine from 2017-2021.
