Dr. Schneider grew up in Washington D.C. and Silver Spring, attending Springbrook High School. He was in the honors program at the University of Maryland and graduated in 1979 with a biochemistry degree. He received his medical degree from Howard University where he also completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency and served as Chief Resident. He completed a Fellowship in Spine Surgery from the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York City. Dr. Schneider has served as President of the Holy Cross Hospital Medical Staff and as Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Howard University Medical School. He is very active in the community and serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Maryland as well as Holy Cross Hospital. He is very active in research and has authored over 50 scientific papers and major presentations. Dr. Schneider is regularly cited as a Top Surgeon in Washingtonian Magazine, Consumer Checkbook, and Guide to America’s Top Surgeons. He is married and has two children.
