Since 1979, the surgeons of Fair Oaks Orthopaedic Associates have provided the full spectrum of orthopaedic care to the communities of the greater Washington area. Dr. Pournaras, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, specializes in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery. His subspecialties include the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tennis elbow, and rotator cuff injuries. Dr. Silveri, another AAOS fellow, completed fellowships in neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgery. He performs complex cervical and lumbar procedures, and was the first surgeon at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital to use spinal navigation routinely. Dr. Miyamoto is an AAOS fellow specializing in the treatment of sports injuries such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, ACL injuries, meniscus and cartilage damage in the knee, labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement in the hip, and total shoulder replacement. Dr. Boyd is a fellow of the American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons. He specializes in robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements. He utilizes this advanced technology to ensure the most accurate placement of implants, which leads to better outcomes and increased longevity of the replacement joints.
