May is National Burger Month, and here on Best Bites blog, we have big plans. Every day, we’ll highlight a burger, or a piece of burger news, or a burger chef–any way to celebrate that most American of sandwiches in this, the most American of cities.
To begin this burger bonanza, we’re pointing you towards BGR’s May special. Mark Bucher’s beefy chain is taking advantage of the fact that May is not only national burger month, it’s also national barbecue month, with something called the White Trash. (No hate comments, we didn’t name it.)
Basically it’s a coleslaw-topped pulled-pork sandwich with a prime beef patty in it. It’s available throughout the month at all BGR locations, and costs $9.99. Not as outlandish as a pizza with a crust made of mini hamburgers, but pretty intense nonetheless.
Also on special this month: a peach pie shake with fresh peaches and vanilla bean custard. If you’ve been waiting to break out your elastic-waist pants, this may be the month to do it.
