Free Lunch at Chop’t!

Choose your own salad fixings—for free!—at the new Chop't in downtown DC.

You're going to want to take an early lunch today. To celebrate the opening of its fifth area location, Chop't Creative Salad Company is dishing out a free salad or sandwich to every customer from 11 AM to 2 PM, or until it runs out of greens. Go early to the newest habit-forming storefront on the corner of 19th and L Streets—the signature opening-day freebies have been known to draw major crowds.

Starting tomorrow, Chop't will charge $5.99 to $10.99 for a micro-diced meal. The ingredient list—which includes anchovy fillets, edamame, and smoked tofu—livens up the redundant downtown-lunch selection. Choose from 11 chef-designed salads or create your own. The classic Cobb is always reliable, and we like the sound of the Chop't Po'boy, loaded with fried chicken and white cheddar cheese—don't worry, it's a salad so it's healthy, right? Riiight. No matter, go get in line!

Chop't, 1105 1/2 19th St., NW; 202-955-0665; choptsalad.com.
