An eagle-eyed Best Bites reader snapped a photo at 2606 Connecticut Avenue, Northwest this morning—that’s the home of District Kitchen, a new restaurant from chef Drew Trautmann, formerly of Mendocino Grille. Here’s hoping the newly painted sign indicates we will soon be eating there.
Trautmann announced plans to open District Kitchen back in August. Modeled after Baltimore destination restaurant Woodberry Kitchen, the new place—formerly Jandara Thai restaurant—was originally slated to begin serving in fall. Autumn has come and gone, but an early winter opening may be in the cards.
