Ferran Adrià Dines at Toki Underground With José Andrés

The former El Bulli chef and the Jaleo restaurateur were joined by acclaimed Peruvian toque Gastón Acurio.

And here we thought the presidential hopefuls had a high-pressure evening last night. They may not have had to contend with horses or bayonets, but the cooks at Toki Undeground were under a different kind of fire as they prepared dinner for former El Bulli head toque Ferran Adrià—often referred to as the best chef in the world.

José Andrés brought Adrià, along with Peruvian cuisine master Gastón Acurio, to the acclaimed ramen spot. “They ate off of Toki’s regular menu of ramen and dumplings and also enjoyed specials from chef Erik Bruner-Yang,” a Toki rep told us this morning. The chefs then headed to Andrés’s Greek eatery Zaytinya to celebrate the restaurant’s tenth anniversary.

Acurio and Adrià are co-stars of the Jesús María Santos documentary Perú Sabe, which focuses on the Peruvian food scene. They will be presenting the film this evening at the Inter-American Development Bank.
