I love Belga Cafe in C. Hill. They have a great green eggs dish and a tasty bloody mary with a salt foam. Reasonable prices too.

The Royal Restaurant brunch buffet is the best! Made to order omelettes, fresh Belgian waffles and a plethora of breakfast sides. At 11:00, half of the buffet switches to lunch food - many times, fried chicken. All you can eat for around $13. Great food and great value...there’s usually a with though, so get there early!

Chef Geoffs in Tenleytown - Poached Eggs Chesapeake is divine.

I live in Arlington, the best ive had in the area is Whitlows. After a night of going out. It has the best selection of filling breakfast foods, omelette bar, and pretty decent endless alaskan crab legs, not to mention a make-it-yourself Bloody mary bar. I;ve tried Liberty Tavern and others, they are fancier and better food quality, but i still end up back at Whitlows!

FireFlies in Del Ray. The live Bluegrass is great! And the specialty mimosas are always fun. If you haven’t had their biscuits and gravy, you are missing out!

Leopold’s may be the most sophisticated-and-yet-affordable brunch in DC, hidden away in Georgetown. The breadbasket is the best in the city and reminds me of Balthazar in New York (not surprising that an Austrian cafe would excel at viennoiserie), the coffee is lovely and strong, and the croque madame is incredible, with the lightest touch of bechamel. Get there early or be prepared to spend more than a minute perusing the cakes and pastries in the long cases running the length of the restaurant while you wait for a table.

The Tune Inn - for a solid jukebox, even harder Bloody Marys, the right to conjoin scrapple with any menu item and the complete lack of anyone who will judge you for enjoying any of the above with a hangover and an only half-healed black eye.

The best dive brunch in town.

Georgia Brown’s is absolutely my favorite. I don’t get there often, but it’s quite special when I do. The buffet and omelet station are plenty for breakfast, and they’ll bring you your entree’ to go.

Market Lunch for "Bluebucks" with real maple syrup (Saturday).
