Daily dispatches on the Washington, DC area's food, restaurant and dining scene.

Critics' Guilty Pleasures

By Todd Kliman , Ann Limpert , Kate Nerenberg , Rina Rapuano

You might think restaurant critics live on a steady diet of bone marrow, Reblochon cheese, and Manjari chocolate, but what do our food writers eat when they’re pinching pennies and nobody’s looking? (Except where noted, eateries have multiple area locations.)

I have never been able to eat a regular order of 5 Guys fries by myself. On special occasions I treat myself and my two dogs to 5 Guys. They get a plain little cheeseburger and I have a regular cheeseburger.
We still can’t finish an order of regular fires. And they know the difference between 5 Guys fries and Mcds fries

How about the crunchy chocolate lava cakes at Domino’s? To DIE for... I am a food snob and healthy food police "officer"--but I love these!
