Enjoy an evening of folksy Christmas music at Strathmore. Bowfire: Holiday Heart Strings is a concert featuring everything from Celtic to bluegrass. 8 PM. Buy tickets ($30 to $65) here.

Hear N’Dambi, a former back-up singer for Erykah Badu, at the Black Cat. The soul singer is performing songs from her new album, Pink Elephant. Tickets ($15) are available here or at the door ($18). 9 PM. Finish the night at the Black Cat’s Moon/Bounce weekly dance party ($5), featuring a mix of disco, hip-hop, and ’90s pop.

Support the Rockville-based band the Treading Lemmings at the release party for its CD Cliff Notes. The group is performing its guitar-driven, Brit-pop based sound at Axum’s Level X Lounge (1934 Ninth St., NW). 8:30; buy tickets ($5) at the door.
