Christmas cheer and a look into history

To commemorate the 69th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, there’s a wreath-laying ceremony and remembrances from survivors at the US Navy Memorial and Naval Heritage Museum. Free; 1 PM.

Virginia Mecklenburg, senior curator of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, presents a talk called “Normal Rockwell and the Movies.” Her research on the artist, his iconic American images, and the relationship between Rockwell and Hollywood complements the museum’s current exhibition. Another lecture tonight is at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
