The troupe Cirque Dream—inspired by Cirque du Soleil—is putting on Holidaze, a high-energy combination of acrobatic tricks, live gingerbread men, Christmas music, and more at the Kennedy Center through December 12. Tickets ($31 to $82) are available here.
To commemorate the 69th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, there’s a wreath-laying ceremony and remembrances from survivors at the US Navy Memorial and Naval Heritage Museum. Free; 1 PM.
Virginia Mecklenburg, senior curator of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, presents a talk called “Normal Rockwell and the Movies.” Her research on the artist, his iconic American images, and the relationship between Rockwell and Hollywood complements the museum’s current exhibition. Judge Thomas Buergenthal, a Holocaust survivor and expert on international law, discusses how his survival of the Auschwitz concentration camp and other wartime experiences influenced his career in international justice. 7 PM.
